Chicken Dumpling with Orange Chilli Garlic Sauce
This easy recipe for chicken and dumplings screams comfort food, which consists of a chicken cooked in water, with the resulting chicken broth being used to cook the dumplings by boiling.
This is one of my all-time favourite recipes, and for good reason: it’s our love of comfort food is made in less time and modern take on a comforting classic food.
Make these quick dumplings and serve hot with orange chilli garlic sauce.
Ingredients:
For the dumpling:
- 300 grams minced chicken
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 7-8 chopped garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp. butter
- ½ tbsp. crushed peppers
- Salt to taste
For the sauce:
- 7-8 dry chilli (deseeded)
- 9-10 garlic cloves
- 2 tomatoes
- ½ cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp. oil
- Salt to taste
Procedure:
- In a bowl mix all the ingredients of dumplings and make small balls of the mixture.
- In a saucepan boil 2 cups of water in medium heat and then put the dumpling balls and let it cook for 5-6 minutes.
- In another saucepan heat 1 cup of water, put the dry chilli, garlic, and tomato and let it boil for 5-6 minutes. Remove the peel of the tomato and put it in a mixture along with chilli and garlic and make the puree.
- Heat a frying pan and put 2 tbsp. of oil and saute the dumpling balls for 2 minutes and then add the puree along with orange juice and cook for another 2 minutes. Adjust the seasoning if required.
- Serve hot with some extra sauce and orange slice.
